So what is the ISO? ISO is how sensitive the camera is to light. The higher that the ISO is the more texture there is in your picture but that does mean that it is more sensitive to light. The lower the ISO is the less texture you will be able to see in your picture but then the camera isn’t as sensitive to light. The exposure triangle relates to the ISO because the exposure triangle is a way that shows how the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture work together. The three setting all work together and that affects how much light goes into the camera.
So now what is white balance? White balance is when you adjust the color temperature to make white in a picture look white and it also affects the tone of the whole picture. The color temperature describes how warm or cool the colors in a picture are. In the camera white balance settings there are a few different settings to pick from such as tungsten, fluorescent, daylight, shade, cloudy, and flash. These different setting will change the mood of the picture and change how the picture looks. The white balance will affect the mood of the picture because it will change the warmth or coolness in the picture which will affect how you see it.
So what is Bracketing? Bracketing is when you take multiple pictures at the same time but the pictures are taken at different exposure values. Most times when you take pictures with bracketing it will take pictures where it is underexposed, overexposed, and exposed just right. Taking pictures using bracketing helps you to know that you should get at least one picture with the right exposure and that you like.
In the pictures above the one on the top left has an ISO of 100, the top middle has an ISO of 200, the top right has an ISO of 400, the bottom left has an ISO of 800, the bottom middle has an ISO of 3200, and the bottom right has an ISO of 1600. That means that you should be able to see more texture in the bottom right one than in the top left one.
The pictures on the far right are pictures that are underexposed or that have a negative number when looking through the viewfinder. The pictures in the middle are overexposed and and have the positive numbers when you look threw the viewfinder. The pictures on the right have the right amount of exposure and that number is 0 when looking through the viewfinder.
For the first row of pictures I like the picture on the right that has the correct exposure. For the next picture of corn I like the middle one which is overexposed. For the third row which is of the flowers I like the one on the left which is the overexposed one. For the fourth row which is of the pumpkins I like the one on the right which is the right amount of exposure. For the fifth row which is the pictures of the plants I like the underexposed picture which is on the right because I like how it makes the sign look and the bricks. For the sixth row with the plants and parking lot I like the one on the far right or the underexposed one. For the last row of the books in the library I like the correct exposure because I like the lighting and the mood that it gives.
I chose this picture as my featured image because I like the color of the flowers and that as you get further into the flowers the background gets blurrier. I also like the way that you can see a little bit of texture in the picture but not a ton and the lighting is still good.
