The main eight are Daylight, Shadow (shade), cloudy, Tungsten, Sports, Landscape, Portrait, and Fluorescent. These are most of them, but they will not all be described. I apologize for the blurry photo. (picture(s) does not show all modes)

Daylight: In daylight mode, it allows you to have better lighting for pictures that tend to have more sunlight in the photo. This allows for a better exposure in the picture. This also allows the picture to not be over exposed.

Shadow (Shade): This mode helps with proper exposure in shade, or darker places. It allows the picture to have better lighting, so it’s the picture isn’t so dark.

Cloudy: This mode helps on cloudy days when there’s still daylight but it’s not as much as the sun fully beaming down on the subject of the picture. It helps get the right exposure for the lightly dimmed subject.

Sports: This one helps you to stop the motion in time and place, while also capturing movement. By that, it means that the subject in motion is frozen and the background is blurry.

Landscape: This takes better photos that involve nature. It allows everything in the picture to have proper lighting as well

In this picture, I used sports mode and stopped the girls mid running out onto the field. I honestly didn’t love how this photo turned out and I would change some things if I were to go back and do it. I probably would take a closer up picture. At the moment, most of the lights were turned off in the gym and I thought it would be the perfect time to use this mode. The only thing I would change is the subject. I wouldn’t choose this to be my nighttime mode picture, but it worked for this. Overall, I like this picture. I also set this as my featured photo, reason being that it just looks so dim, eerie and you feel like there’s more to this picture than what there actually is. It’s also very still, nothings moving just darkness with some light here and there.

In the end the mode that felt the most natural to use was the portrait mode or daylight mode. These were easiest because of their exposure and where I could take pictures with them. I’ve also used portrait mode before.

Two other modes are Manual and Automatic mode: Manual mode is where you get to set everything (Aperture, ISO, and shutter speed) to where you want it to be. Automatic mode is where it automatically sets the aperture, ISO and shutter speed to where the camera thinks it would be best for the photo you want to take. A time I would choose manual over automatic is a time where you want something specific in a photo. You get to choose where you set everything to get the picture you want, and that is helpful when you want your picture darker or lighter or even partly blurry or no blur at all.

In this paragraph, it will explain the types of modes on a mode dial and…

Read the postThe Mode Dial and Histograms:

[2

post-116","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-camera-mechanics","excerpt","zoom","full-without-featured","even","excerpt-0
["GET
