DOF in Photography is … <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DOF is also known as the Depth of Field. This feature either lets you have more elements in focus or less elements in focus which means the background and foreground would be blurred. The reason for this is because the greater the depth of field equals better focus and the weaker the depth of field equals a more blurry outcome.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The photo above shows a weaker DOF or the opposite of a greater DOF, which means the plant on the left side of the image is the most focused while the background is blurry. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This photo above shows a greater depth of field, which means that the plant on the left side of the image is still focused but the background isn’t as blurred as the photo beside it. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Reasons a photographer should use DOF is because of what it can give you. The depth of field in a picture will either create a more focused picture of a more blurred picture, one or the other. DOF can create a clean and crisp picture when it is more focused. But DOF can also create a more blurred and eye catching picture because of the blurriness and curiosity it causes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What DOF can be used for … <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DOF is used for how much your image is either focused or blurry. This means that you first have to have some control over your DOF. The way that you do this is by changing your settings to aperture mode which is where you get full control. However, you also need to know that the smaller you depth of field is the blurrier the background and the bigger the depth of field equals a more focused background. DOF can be used for when you want cleaner and sharper images. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Small DOF . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A small DOF means that less things will be in focus. So if you have a small subject or you want more blurriness then you want a smaller depth of field. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Large DOF . . . <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After reading the text to your left, you then realize that a large DOF must mean that more subjects in your photo will be focused, which is correct. A greater depth of field equals a more focused outcome. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Depth of Field is one of those things that can be changed by another and in this case the aperture can change the depth of field. You should first know that the greater DOF creates a sharper photo while a smaller DOF creates a more blurred picture. Now back to the aperture, aperture changes the depth of field when the size of the aperture changes. When the size is bigger more light comes in a creates the more blurred picture. But the smaller the size of the aperture and the less amount of light that reaches the lens the more focused the picture becomes. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

These pictures above each have a different distance to them. The first picture of each subject is the closest one and then they start getting farther and farther away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I chose this as the last picture and as my favorite picture because of how it catches the eye, is focused on something specific, but also has other things going on in the background. This picture also has to parts of it, it has a God made and a manmade. The God made is the beautifully green plant and the manmade is the bus and pavement in the background which is blurred. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
