Photographers use layering in their photos a number of ways. One way they can use layering is by adding a subject to the foreground of an already beautiful photo. They can use layering by blurring the background and focusing on the subject, or they can keep the background focused if it adds to the picture. The reason layering can be an important part of a photo is because it creates more depth and interest to the picture. Without layering, photos can look flat and boring. Flat photos do not keep a viewers eyes attention very long. Here is an example of what layering can look like in a photo. In this photo the layers of mountains create depth.<\/p>\n\n\n

In this photo I used my dashboard and steering wheel to create a foreground to the photo. There is at least two layers in this photo including the dashboard, the road, and the sunset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This photo also has a least two layers. The first layer is the bee on the purple flowers. The second could be the light pole behind the flowers. And the last layer is the background filled with green nature and the sky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this photo the white flowers are the main subject, while the room in the background is creating depth to the picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Layering is being used in the same way in these two photos. They both show the business of the school hallways by using layering. The layers are being created by the people in the photos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I chose this photo as my featured photo because I love the story it tells. Layering is being used because I put food in the foreground of the photo, my friends laughing and having a good time as the mid ground, and the coffee shop we were at created the background. I love this photo because it is a great example of how layering can tell a story by showing little details. The more you look at the photo the more you learn about what’s happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
