Introduction
Layering is important in your photography because it adds depth to an otherwise flat photo. Adding different dimensions to your photo leads the viewer through the image and they stay in it so they like it. A photographer can add layers by putting a subject in the foreground, middle ground, and background.

In this picture the photographer placed the first person in the foreground, the second in the middle ground, and the last two people and mountains in the background. This is a very layered photo resulted in a quality image.
Examples

This photo was taken at the Fall Festival at school. The first person, Lilah, is in the foreground while the Maddy is the middle ground. The rest of the people make the background.

I took this picture at school of Lilah and Heidi taking pictures. It shows layering with Heidi in the foreground, Lilah in the middle ground and the school in the background.

I took this picture going back to class of Desiree and Maria walking. Desiree is in my foreground, Maria is in the middle ground and Tina and the bookshelves are in the background.

This was also taken at the Fall Festival of Addy face painting. She is in the foreground, Brianna and the two kids are in the middle ground and the rest of the kids and cars are in the background.

I took this walking out of class of Miss H and Hadassah working. Miss H is the first layer and Hadassah is the middle ground. The windows and chairs in the back are the background.

This picture is downstairs in the elementary section. The first girl putting her stuff away makes the foreground. The second and third girl are the middle ground and the fourth girl is the background. I chose this picture as my featured image because I like how the people make the layers. It’s also a really cute picture and has a lot of character.
