In my photography class we took a field trip to Green Dragon Market to practice each of the photography techniques we learned.

The photo of the candles and the stacked lemons and the cars stacked are showing balance. The photos are symmetrical on both sides which makes them balanced.

I chose this photo above as my featured image because I like how moody the lighting is. I like how the shelf leads the viewers eyes in, and how the foreground is very clear and the mid ground and background is blurred.

These photos above are showing leading lines. The photo on the left of the shelf is leading the views eyes into the photo. The photo on the right is also using the leading lines because the shelf Is leading the viewer into that photo.

These photos of the mirror to the left and the pictures of animals are showing framing. The photo to the left is being framed by the mirror. The photo to the right is being framed by the bookshelf (to the left) and the lamp (to the right).

These photos above are showing layering. There is foreground, mid ground, and background in each photo. The foreground is in focus and the mid ground is slightly in focus but also slightly blurry, and the background is blurred.

These photos above are showing layering and depth. The foreground is in focus and the mid ground is in focus but also blurred a little and the foreground is blurred, to brighten the subjects.
Closing Statement
During this semester in my photography class I learned the basics for taking photos. I learned about composition rules such as: rule of thirds, depth of field, layering, leading lines and more. I learned how to make the lighting in a photo, fit the scene well. I learned make an average photo a bit more interesting that will intrigue a viewer, by only adjusting the lighting or angle. I also learned about camera mechanics and how to manually adjust the ISO or shutter speed, which I thought was very helpful, even if it wasn't always the most simplest thing. I really enjoy taking photos of nature and with my friends so this class was incredibly helpful and practical.
