Leading Lines

What is the purpose of leading lines in photography? Leading lines are basically exactly what they sound like. They are lines that lead the viewer’s eye throughout the image. This can help the viewer see the subject that the photographer is trying to get them to see.

I chose this picture as my featured image because it is obvious what the leading lines in this image are and what subject they are leading to. I like how it looks like you could just follow the leading lines into the building.
