What is Depth of field?<\/kbd><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depth of field is the range of distance within a photograph where objects appear sharp and in focus. It helps it create a sense of depth by including 3 or more layers to your photo. In your photo there should be the foreground, middle ground, and then your background. These layers will make it feel more 3D, and it will be more appealing to the eye. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When should you use small depth of feild? <\/kbd><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When taking picture of more upclose subject pictures it should be used, so that nothing in the background is distracting. This technique is usually used when taking portraits, wildlife, and sports photography. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When should you use large depth of field?<\/kbd><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use large depth of field when you want to keep a large portion of the scene, from the foreground to the background, in sharp focus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By having a larger apeture it results in a more shallow depth of feild. So here in the picture the f\/22 had a larger depth of field, which makes the photo more sharp. On the other hand f\/4 has a more shallow depth of field so the image is less sharp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a smaller depth of field the picture was more up close and it was focusing on the leaves and burring the background. Compared to the larger depth of feild it didn’t bur the background. Personally with the specific subject that I chose I preferre the smaller depth of field one over the larger depth of field, because it is also more bright. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This picture was taken outside of school at the car loop. I choose this as my favoite image because it so cute and I also love pumpkins. The different colors of pumpkins give it a fun contrast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
